The council now have men in with a woodchipper at St. James' Park, lopping branches off the sycamore between the path behind the 'paddock' and the houses facing on to Upton St. Not sure if they are just trimming it, or taking it down completely...

Justin was totally on their side regarding the trees, so they can lop off as much as they choose. The trees belong to the city council, so they can do as they please with them, which includes totally removing them if the city farm wants them removed. The whole issue is so ridiculously one-sided. The sycamore should have been carefully pruned back by a trained tree surgeon during the winter, but it's typical of the council to try to carry out the works at precisely the wrong time of year.

I've just composed a letter to Alison Curtis at the county council. I'm going to get to the bottom of this issue about whether or not some of the land that the city farm claim as theirs is actually Highway land. She previously declared that she couldn't understand what I was talking about, so I've copied out two maps in colour and added my own bits in a different colour to show which areas I'm claiming are probably Highway land that is unlawfully being used by the city farm. I'm still waiting for the county council to answer my questions about the unlawful use of Highway land by the city farm. I delivered the letter to Shire Hall on 19th March; it was passed to Ian Howells, and he seems to be waiting for me to die of old age. I've just sent a reminder email.

I've just noticed that (not for the first time) I wrote sycamore when I meant Norway maple. Anyway, what happened to the trees? I hardly ever visit St. James' Park now.

The one tree I saw them working on only seems to have had a few branches removed. The bee box is still on it, not that any bees ever toook up residence in over three years. Hardly seems worth the trip, but they may have done more work on the other end of the park. Attachments:

It seems that the county council is going to tie itself in knots in order to prove that Highway land isn't really Highway land. Part of that unlawfully fenced off land still has a tarmac pavement running through it, so their explanation (when it comes) should be a laugh. They're going back to pre-1923 maps, apparently.

The only thoughts I had about Glevum_Girl was that something didn't add up, but now GG claims to be called 'Patricia', I do have a theory. Better not pursue it, though, could be Shaun Shute/Darch all over again... I get the feeling that a comment you posted, Kay, which prompted the 'My name is Patrica' response, and probably included a defence of me against that 'spite and spam' barb, was deleted by Eddie, presumably because it attracted another attack. It's typical of him to conceal the evidence of allies acting like jerkwads, and your post couldn't be allowed to stand while G-G's was removed. I'll just say, then, that my guess is that 'Glevum_Girl' is Pat Hurley, currently finishing the job of running the partnership into the ground.
