The Citizen has now actually printed one of the rugby troll's comments on page 11 of today's paper. Just as you thought that they couldn't get worse, they confound your expectations! The right hand clearly doesn't know what the left hand is doing. The rugby troll has used scores of false identities and has hundreds of idiotic comments deleted. They've banned the term 'Rupert Harden' from the comments section - it gets asterisked if you write it. The troll (who is cleverer than the comments team, which admittedly isn't too difficult) uses a letter from a different alphabet instead of the letter 'e'.

Now they are no longer deleting any of the rugby troll's repetitive, Rupert-obsessed comments when I report them. And this is the same comments team who continue to delete my comments when someone doesn't like them.

The troll is on overtime today - he's just posted 14 ridiculous comments on just one story.

The load of comments by the rugby troll from yesterday have all disappeared, but I bet that he hasn't had his online identities banned, because he's been using some of them for six months and more. The ones from February are still there, though.

Reading Kay's comments relates very closely to my own experiences on tig . I have decided from now on to post messages and ignore the continual drivel. I do wonder If the perpetrator actually has a connection with tig.

It wouldn't surprise me, but in practise, many people don't need such a connection to get involved. In fact, they may get 'involved' in this remote fashion purely to create a sense of connection in their own heads that is lacking in real life.

I totally agree that the RH troll has a serious problem - It seems like the latest thread in which over 40 repetitive comments were posted has been deleted. I will continue to post and ignore his/her comments - hopefully others will do the same. I am sure a response of any kind is what this sad individual is after.

The trouble is that we don't have to be responding to anything, simply expressing an opinion on a topic that he has decided is connected to Rupert Harden and Gloucester Rugby (such as an eating contest or the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum), and he'll be in there, denying that you know anything about rugby (even if you have not mentioned rugby). He does have a limited range of responses, which he uses willy-nilly. BTW, the latest thread is still there; I've just reported it as a whole, rather than reporting the 38 current comments from the troll. Yesterday I reported 12, which were deleted, but his identities weren't banned, which is ridiculous.

Hard to believe TiG actually printed another comment by him, obligatory 'tight head' and all, in yesterday's paper:
'Never mind about any of this! What is of more importance and of infinitely greater interest to all those who know anything of rugby union, is Gloucester Rugby, and the goings on at Kingsholm. And when it comes to Gloucester Rugby, what the club really should have done last season was to ensure that Rupert Harden (our first choice, our most talented and our most complete tight head prop), started as many games for Gloucester as possible. SidGlawsder on flags are out for Rugby World Cup in Gloucester'

I know. I was going to point it out yesterday, but was too pushed for time. The really ridiculous thing is that darling Rupert is no longer even on the Gloucester squad! If he doesn't even make it onto the 36-man squad, he has zero chance of actually being selected to play a game this season. The troll must be finding this hard to deal with.
The comment facility has now, rather belatedly, been removed from the Soldiers of Gloucestershire story because of the numerous abusive posts (over 60, I think) by the troll. Someone else must have complained about them, because I think that the moderator now ignores me.

I see that the troll has found another thread on which to post the usual repetitive, abusive garbage - "David Humphreys calls for a ruthless approach..."
I find it particularly ironic that the troll claims that other people don't know who any of the players are, as the one player who will definitely NOT be playing is Rupert Harden, who has been dropped from the squad.

I was about to post a genuine comment regarding the tragic retirement of JSD and have noticed that the facility to comment has been removed from any rugby related article. At least finally tig have reacted eventually to the situation.

I have just received an amazing message from the comments team, indicating that my account is suspended. You can imagine my response. I have come to the conclusion that life is too short to continue to show any interest in thisisgloucestershire.

They really are so stupendously hypocritical. Maybe the troll is Ian Mean's abnormal younger brother or something, kept in a dungeon and only allowed to communicate with the outside world via the internet. Whoever he is, he's still happily posting his abusive nonsense, while ordinary people get warned and banned for ridiculous reasons. He was particularly exercised over the weekend - he posted 99 of his funny comments on just one thread.
