I would add that each person should only be able to rate a comment once. This would require them to be logged in. At the moment, it is clearly possible to corrupt the ratings system, e.g. a cople of months ago, Chris Roberts challenged people to give him 300 negative ratings, and within a short time that happened! It wasn't me, and I don't know how it was done!

As I've said before, the sooner TiG's ratings system is thoroughly discredited, and then abandoned, the better.
Still, at least our own system is not subject to abuse...
