Now, maybe I'm wrong about this, but isn't CaptCX comparing chalk and cheese? The harm from cigarettes is cumulative, but ultimately serious, if not actually fatal.
If you sit in a garage with a car that's running, you will probably make a full recovery, if you don't die. And if you do die, it'll be because you wanted to, hypothetical scenario aside. That's why suicidal people don't sit in garages surrounded by a thousand lit cigarettes.
