Seems that some people, and perhaps everyone, can't log in to TiG at the moment to make comments. Foul-ups aren't exactly news for TiG, of course, which must be why they're never referred to...

Dunno if anyone else has noticed another annoying 'feature' of TiG (possibly a feature for them, but definitely annoying for us).
When you're on the main news page and you click on the 'comments' part of an article (and this only seems to apply when there are enough comments for the 'View all' tag to appear, TiG does a little dance. First it takes you to the top of the comments with, let's say '15 comments' at the top of the screen. Then, as you try to click on 'View all', it jumps half a screen up. Finally, it jumps up half a screen again. As a consequence, there's a fairly good chance that you will accidentally click on one of the 'From around the Web' stories that lie between the article itself and the comments.
Does TiG receive payment when these links are clicked on, accidentally or not? If not, they shouldn't have a problem with fixing the jerking bug (besides the fact that they probably don't pay their IT staff enough to do it, or some of that pay comes from the proceeds of the 'bug'?).

Having been tripped up by the jumpy screen several times now today, I'm pretty much convinced this is an invidious design feature...

I thought that the problem was caused by my use of a rather slow computer or an out-of-date software programme, but it seems that it happens to everyone. It must be the fault of the website.
