Maybe I'm being a bit dim, but who is running this shebang? The Trust Centre was sold last year, so who owns it now, and what do the BTCT now have to do with the building? Why does the final sentence of the advert refer to the Trust Centre as though it is an organisation, rather than a building?

I think a bloke called Yakub Patel, who is a trustee for at least three Muslim trusts in the area, is connected with it now, but the 'existing' trustees never told us, as they promised they would, who bought the building.
By the by, it doesn't look as if the people who loused up the BTCT are at all keen to let someone else take over and scrutinise the books. They appear to be desperate to hand it over to BTD instead.

I went along to the Open Day, and must say that things seem to be looking up. I met the new owner, a Mr. Jaffar [not sure about the spelling], who was standing in the lobby shaking hands with everyone as they came in. He was happy to tell me that he paid £240,000 for the building, which was more than he had wanted to pay, but there were a number of other potential buyers in the bidding. I was astonished at how young he was - around 30 years old, I thought. He seems to be in control of the situation. They already have a thriving All Nations Nursery there, and they plan to have a range of adult education classes.
I also saw Ismael Rhyman and Ismail Ginwalla, and a couple of other people I know but couldn't name. There were sewing demonstrations going on, and a range of activities for young children. I'd never before seen the rear area on the first floor, because it has always been locked when I've attended meetings at the Trust Centre. They have a range of rooms in addition to the Gloucester FM studio. There is a room at the back with loads of very up-to-date computers. They were giving computer lessons to Asian women.

I think it might be 'Jaffer', Kay. His wife Sarah went to the same secondary school as me, St Peter's, though I only know that through my wife chatting with her during parent/child courses at Hatherley School.
I hope that he might also want to become a trustee of the BTCT, because every bit of money we can keep putting into the ward helps.
By the way, I went down to Pat Scannell's flat, to find out for sure when the TETRA AGM is happening. Jun 10th, it seems. He was enthusiastic about the May 1st meeting. Apparently, there's been talk about moving TETRA meets up to the Little Vic (the landlord being fine with that) so that Tredworth residents can attend more easily, but Pat would be happier if the TRA kept going. I don't mind where it meets as long as it does, so we'll discuss the details in May.
