The lunacy continues. I see that I have now been upgraded from merely "God" to "Global Moderator". Why am I now an administrator of this board??? Of course, it has allowed me to see that Gary leach has 'reported' me (along with everyone else, of course).

Joe can damn well do the job himself. It was stupid to set up a board with absolutely no censorship. Now he doesn't want to manage it himself, as he's more interested in the local elections. It makes no difference who gets elected, as they will all do as they are told by their party and/or behave as corruptly as it is possible to get away with.

Not if Joe gets elected - he has morals and principles. They serve him really well on this board.

His intentions were honourable and personally I believe places like this are required to act as a safe channel for individuals like... yanno. I agree with regards to politicians, they're all corrupt idiots and as bad as each other, I don't even keep track of when elections are occurring whether country wide or specific to my county (which I will not be stating here), however much the government pester me to, I'm not going to vote or keep track of such things. I honestly don't see the point

Not if Joe gets elected - he has morals and principles. They serve him really well on this board. If Joe gets elected. That's a good one. It's more likely that my terrier will become a cat-loving vegetarian. It was never about winning, Kay. Getting (significantly) more votes than the last candidate would have been enough. Actually getting any official support for the local issues I've highlighted, or even just acknowledgement of them, would have been something, too. I've held out in the hope of getting either, from anyone but David Harber, but since Saturday, it's become a moot point, so I guess the anonymous 'Bartonite' is just going to have to be allowed to crow that I didn't end up standing, without ever having to prove that I tried to before. And I gave you moderator status so you could see how it works, but didn't feel much like emailing anyone on Sat night about the details, and Daughter no 2 monopolised the computer all Sunday (which I didn't really mind, because damn, the internet can be addictive). Thought you might like to join the Gloucestershire Politics board and have the same status. There's a lot of bullshit to expose in the run-up to the elections, and though I never thought I'd say it, I realised weeks ago that Russell Brand was right, that when you start the candidate process, even as an independent, you start compromising to get votes, even nomination signatures. It doesn't work. Only direct action works. I've got one objective in the elections, and that's that Richard Graham doesn't get a second term (to go, doubtless, with his second job, which probably dwarfs his MP's pension), which probably means voting Labour, and holding my nose with individuals like Kate Haigh, Ahmed Hansdot and Usman Bhaimia being in the party. Just in passing, while I always harbour doubts about people I don't know personally (though I kind of wish people who knew me personally could be a little more trusting), I may have rushed to judgement with Lovinnickelback, attributing some tweets to trolling tendencies, rather than real bouts of mental distress (soz, there's no gentler way to put that, at least at this time of night). Definitely coming across as more lucid, informed and genuine than 'Gary', anyway (though yes, that's not a high bar). This is still the site people take as they find, and always will be, unless anyone with mod powers think it should be otherwise. As I said I've known easy-going people getting such powers, and suddenly thinking they have to be the thought police. I'd like to think anyone getting such status here would look at a post that annoyed them and, finger hovering over the 'delete', or even just 'Move to' button, temember what this board is for and think 'Actually, let it stand'. For real judgement calls, the Politics board awaits... Now for sleep, and I might be busy with the family on Monday, too. I'll see incoming emails via the Fire phone.

Definitely coming across as more lucid, informed and genuine than 'Gary', anyway (though yes, that's not a high bar). I appreciate this. Yes, unfortunately I have had mental distress, but I am overcoming that. Although I did my upmost to keep as much of the triggering content (self harm etc) off of twitter as I could (because a help account that posts such content, and risk making people worse/more triggered, that simply just doesn't make sense), unfortunately I wasn't always successful, often it was during the most severe episodes that things slipped through onto twitter (which also means I suppose that it could be the most dangerous stuff). My decision to become antipsych, anti meds, etc. Was after a close study of the evidence available, and if you (or anyone else) disagrees with this, I would encourage you to post links to evidence to support your disagreement (Just don't post in Gary style eh?) Being compared to Gary, well, I suppose that it's slightly in my favour that compliment. I haven't had (yet) any episodes of 'Gary syndrome', which is very complex and obviously distressing (to others at least, possibly him as well), but I'm working to understand this and work out what to do about this Thank you for understanding Joe

Why has part of this thread been moved to the spam folder? All of Gary's input is spam, so what was different?

Well, here's an interesting thing: I've just looked at Joe's other forum, glospolitics, for the first time, and I see that he doesn't allow trolling there. Why not? Is politics such an important subject that trolls can't be allowed to ruin the forums there?
